An unnamed holder has put about $500 million of data center loans up for auction, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, according to summaries of its report by Startup Fortune and BeInCrypto. Bids are due November 19, with each bid at least $10 million. The loans include debt tied to Vantage Data Centers and CyrusOne, and a $25 million slice backing a New Mexico site that is part of Stargate, the venture of OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle.
On the same day, every CoreWeave bond line we track traded lower. On FINRA’s TRACE data, read at 23:29 UTC on 5 November, CoreWeave’s 9.625% notes due July 2032 last traded at 76.42 cents on the dollar, a yield of 16.09%, down from 78.50 and 15.42% at our 4 November read. By our arithmetic, all 12 CoreWeave note lines on TRACE last traded below our 4 November read, and the 9.625% notes are down about 3.6 points from 80.03 in our 2 November snapshot.

What Was Reported
Update, 6 Nov, 00:22 UTC: the New Mexico site in the sale has carried a force majeure notice since September. The $25 million slice backs Project Jupiter, a Stargate campus in New Mexico. Oracle sent the site’s developer a force majeure notice in September, which Bloomberg first reported on 24 September, TechCrunch wrote. According to Bloomberg’s sources, Oracle is not seeking to exit as the main tenant; the notice would allow it to delay payments should the facility miss its 2028 target to come online.
“Project Jupiter remains on our planned schedule,” Oracle said in a statement to CNBC. Blue Owl Capital, whose unit received the notice, said “this notice does not change the financial commitments to this multi-year project.”
A post on X on 5 November cited the notice without its date; it dates from September. Bids in the loan sale are due 19 November, and a public hearing on the site’s state air permit is set for 7 December, BeInCrypto reported, citing the Albuquerque Journal for the hearing date. Our 19 September piece covered the site’s debt quoted below par.
Startup Fortune wrote that Bloomberg framed the sale as one of the first auctions to contain data center debt exclusively. BeInCrypto described the seller as unnamed and the batch as about a dozen loans. Neither outlet names the seller, and we have not read Bloomberg’s article directly.
Bloomberg also ran the headline “Hedge Funds Were ‘Massive’ Sellers of AI Debt, RBC’s Skiba Says” on 5 November. According to Startup Fortune’s summary, Andrzej Skiba, head of BlueBay US fixed income at RBC Global Asset Management, told Bloomberg that hedge funds have been “massive sellers” of AI-related debt in recent weeks, describing a “massive hedge fund capitulation within the space.”
A Reuters Breakingviews column the same day ran under the headline “Tech wreckage now hinges on Anthropic IPO”. We cite only its headline.

The Structural Read
As we read the day, AI’s debt layer repriced alongside its stocks: bond prices fell, swap protection got dearer, and a holder of data center loans looked for buyers.
As we read the auction, no price for the loans has been reported; bids are due November 19, and any discount is not yet known.

FOR NEOCLOUD BORROWERS CoreWeave’s high-coupon notes now trade at yields above 15%, per TRACE.
FOR DATA CENTER LENDERS Bids on the batch of data center loans are due November 19, according to the reports.
FOR AI CREDIT Swap protection on SpaceX debt reached a reported record the same day.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The AI Capex Map & The State of AI Hyperscalers.
The framework says: “It is a sovereign-scale financing problem dressed in tech-company clothing โ and the financial architecture is starting to invert.”
As we read it, the bond prices, the swap level and the loan auction are the financing side of that problem showing up in public prices on one day. The framework itself does not discuss these trades.
What Is Not Established
We have not read Bloomberg’s auction or Skiba articles directly; the details come from summaries by Startup Fortune and BeInCrypto. The seller is not named, and the auction has not priced: bids are due November 19, so any discount is not yet known. TRACE shows the last sale on each bond, not a closing price or the day’s low, and prices can move on small trades. The SpaceX swap level comes from Markit data cited on X, which we have not seen directly.
