The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The AI Supercycle.

The essay says “The within-layer split is what makes silicon strategically interesting again” and lists the HBM oligopoly of SK Hynix, Samsung and Micron in its foundries and packaging layer.

As we read it, the 2026 closing prices show a split inside the chip layer too, from Micron at +141.76% to Broadcom at −15.14%; the essay does not discuss share prices.

What Is Not Established

These are share-price changes only, not total returns: they leave out dividends. The end date is the November 6 close, the last trading day before this piece. The closing prices do not give reasons for any move, and the group averages are simple, unweighted averages that we computed; they are not index returns. The post’s percentages match ours to two decimals, and we did not check its non-technology names.
