ServiceNow chief executive Bill McDermott told analysts that the company’s acquisition of the Israeli startup Sweep lets it move customers from one CRM system to another in weeks rather than years, CTech (Calcalist) reported on 1 November. “We’re talking like days, 30 days, 60 days for a serious company of serious scale,” he said on the earnings call.
CTech reported on 3 September that ServiceNow had bought Sweep in a deal it estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars; neither company has disclosed a price. Sweep had disclosed $46 million in total funding, so any price of $200 million or more would be at least 4.3 times what it raised, by our arithmetic.
Business Engineer Course · The FDE Playbook
An evergreen Business Engineer course on forward-deployed engineering, how AI gets put to work inside organisations. It teaches the general idea only and does not discuss this deal.
The key insight: As we read it, ServiceNow is paying people to speed up AI deployments now while buying software, Sweep, meant to do part of that work, and it says the people are temporary.
What ServiceNow Said About Sweep
According to CTech’s account of the call, McDermott called the deal “our tuck-in of Sweep” and said it “adds deep expertise in rapid agentic deployments, giving us another gear to accelerate while improving customer outcomes.”
He tied it to how long CRM projects take. “One of the big reasons why customers sometimes have a more difficult time changing from one CRM system to another is they have a long implementation cycle,” he said, adding: “So now we’re able to accelerate the deployment times for CRM.”
In September, ServiceNow told CTech in a written statement: “Sweep’s technology and expertise strengthen our AI-native development capabilities and advance agentic deployment for CRM.”

What Sweep Does
CTech says Sweep was founded in 2021 by Ido Gaver and Eran Kirshenboim and raised a $22.5 million Series B in May 2025, led by Insight Partners with Bessemer Venture Partners. CTech describes its software as an “agentic workspace” that works across ServiceNow, Salesforce and HubSpot, monitoring metadata, finding misalignments and generating documentation.
Sweep’s own website calls the product “The agentic layer for your enterprise systems”. CTech lists Brex, LG Electronics, Mass General Brigham, NBC Sports, Exiger and Wix among its customers.
The CRM Numbers ServiceNow Gave
CTech reports that chief financial officer Gina Mastantuono said ServiceNow’s AI-enabled CRM bookings tripled from both the previous quarter and a year earlier, and that CRM and industry workflows appeared in 13 of the quarter’s top 20 deals. By our arithmetic, that is 65% of the top 20.
McDermott said customers are ripping and replacing, “not just add alongside,” and that “the old CRM was built for sales teams. The new one has to work across your entire business.” CTech notes that Salesforce has long led that market.
The comments came the same week ServiceNow’s shares fell sharply, which we covered as ServiceNow falling 34% in a week as software sold off, after it raised its AI target to $1.7 billion. Rivals are also raising money: we covered Sequoia leading a $150M round for ServiceNow rival Serval.
Services Now, Agents Later
CTech reports that ServiceNow now bundles its own delivery experts into select deals and books that value as professional services rather than subscription revenue, a shift Mastantuono put at about 25 basis points in the third quarter and about 50 in the fourth. She said customers receiving the support “saw AI adoption progress twice as fast during just the first five weeks.”
She added: “We don’t expect to include this delivery expertise over the long term.” Chief product officer and chief operating officer Amit Zavery said the company is “using AI implementation agents” so that “a lot of the heavy lifting is done by AI.” As we read it, Sweep is part of that plan: software that does migration work people currently do.
CTech counts Sweep among at least seven Israeli or Israeli-founded acquisitions by ServiceNow worth more than $8 billion in total, including Armis for $7.75 billion. By our arithmetic, Armis alone is about 97% of that $8 billion floor.
The Structural Read
As we read the call as CTech reports it, the pitch to CRM buyers is time: McDermott frames the switching cost as the length of implementation, and Sweep as the way to shorten it.
By our arithmetic, CRM and industry workflows appeared in 65% of ServiceNow’s 20 largest third-quarter deals, the figure CTech attributes to Mastantuono.
As we read it, the services shift and the Sweep deal point the same way: the company says delivery experts are a bridge and that implementation agents will carry more of the work.

Three Implications
FOR CRM BUYERS McDermott says switches that took years can take 30 to 60 days for a large company; ServiceNow has not published measured switch times.
FOR SERVICENOW’S REVENUE MIX CTech reports the company books bundled delivery work as professional services, a shift Mastantuono put at about 25 basis points in the third quarter and about 50 in the fourth.
FOR ISRAELI AI STARTUPS CTech counts Sweep among at least seven Israeli or Israeli-founded acquisitions by ServiceNow worth more than $8 billion in total, led by Armis at $7.75 billion.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework From SaaS to AGaaS.
The framework says: “Every prior as-a-service shift rewrote the industry’s value hierarchy.”
As we read it, a CRM vendor selling faster switching with agents is one test of that idea. The framework predates this deal and does not discuss it.

What Is Not Established
The price is not disclosed; “hundreds of millions” is CTech’s estimate. The 30-to-60-day figure is McDermott’s description, not a measured result, and the quotes come from CTech’s report of the call rather than a transcript we read. ServiceNow has not said how many CRM customers have switched using Sweep.
The Bottom Line
ServiceNow says a startup that had raised $46 million lets it switch large CRM customers in one to two months. It says CRM and industry workflows appeared in 13 of its 20 biggest deals last quarter. The claim to watch is whether those switches show up in disclosed customer counts.
