Adobe Speeds Photoshop Up to 2x on Nvidia’s RTX Spark

Adobe and NVIDIA announced an expanded partnership on 15 October 2026, under which Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D are optimized for NVIDIA’s RTX Spark superchip, according to their joint release. The companies say the optimized applications deliver up to 2x faster AI processing, editing, color and effects.

NVIDIA’s copy of the release says RTX Spark is launching on 16 October. The release also covers Frame.io in the cloud and Adobe Brand Concierge running on NVIDIA Nemotron open models, which NVIDIA says it has selected for its own website.

A one-minute explainer of why AI runs on GPUs, chips first built for video games. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any company in this story.

The key insight: As we read it, the release ties Adobe’s best-known creative tools to a specific NVIDIA chip: it says Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D are optimized for RTX Spark, with up to 2x faster AI processing, editing, color and effects.

What the Two Companies Announced

The release says Adobe is expanding the collaboration to optimize its flagship tools, including Photoshop, Premiere, Substance 3D, Frame.io and Brand Concierge, “delivering faster AI-powered creation, production and personalization.”

It builds on a strategic partnership the two companies announced in March, the release says. That work includes GPU acceleration for media ingestion and intelligence in Frame.io, and ongoing work on Substance 3D, Adobe Firefly Foundry and 3D digital twin workflows for enterprise customers.

“Powered by RTX Spark, Adobe’s optimized tools deliver up to 2x faster performance to accelerate these new workflows,” said Jason Paul, NVIDIA’s vice president of local AI, in the release.

Adobe and NVIDIA say Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D optimized for RTX Spark deliver up to 2x faster AI processing, editing, color and effects; early Frame.io results show about 5x faster embedding generation (joint release, 15 October 2026).

Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D on RTX Spark

According to the release, Adobe rearchitected Photoshop around GPU-accelerated compositing, for tasks from the Remove Tool to effects such as Gaussian Blur and Light Leaks applied directly on canvas.

In Premiere, the release says, playback, rendering, effects, color and AI-powered tools are RTX-accelerated and optimized for RTX Spark, with speed gains for features such as Enhance Speech and Object Mask. For Substance 3D Painter, it says RTX Spark speeds up the heaviest texturing steps.

“By partnering with NVIDIA to optimize Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D for RTX Spark and accelerating Frame.io in the cloud, we’re delivering the performance creatives need to bring their ideas to life,” said Deepa Subramaniam, Adobe’s vice president of product marketing for creative professionals.

Frame.io in the Cloud

The release says the updated Frame.io pipeline uses NVIDIA NVDEC for hardware-accelerated decoding and NVIDIA TensorRT with CUDA for content preprocessing and embedding generation.

Early performance results from selected Frame.io transcode and search workloads show approximately 5x faster embedding generation, a 4-5x improvement in P95 processing latency and an approximately 80% smaller search proxy, according to the release.

Brand Concierge on Nemotron

Adobe and NVIDIA worked together to optimize Brand Concierge using NVIDIA Nemotron open models, the release says, and this version will be available to enterprise customers later this year.

NVIDIA has also selected Brand Concierge for personalized conversational experiences on its own website, the release says, using Nemotron for the responses. NVIDIA released its Nemotron 3.5 open models the same day, as we reported.

Jensen Huang said on the Bg2 Pod that Nvidia now sells over $40B of gear per gigawatt, as we reported on 15 October.

The Structural Read

As we read it, the partnership runs in both directions: the release says Adobe’s tools are optimized for NVIDIA hardware, and that NVIDIA has selected Adobe Brand Concierge for its own website.

As we read it, NVIDIA appears at three layers of Adobe’s stack in one release: RTX Spark on the desktop, NVIDIA GPUs for Frame.io in the cloud, and Nemotron open models inside Brand Concierge.

As we read it, the Frame.io numbers are the most specific in the release: approximately 5x faster embedding generation and a 4-5x improvement in P95 processing latency, which the release calls early results from selected workloads.

“Creative workflows are more multimodal than ever, with many projects spanning images, video, audio, motion and 3D, making performance critical to helping creatives stay focused on their ideas and craft”

Three Implications

CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS The release says Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D are optimized for RTX Spark, with gains for features such as Enhance Speech and Object Mask in Premiere.

PRODUCTION TEAMS The release says the updated Frame.io pipeline makes uploaded content searchable sooner, with an approximately 80% smaller search proxy in early results.

ENTERPRISE MARKETERS The release says the Nemotron version of Brand Concierge will be available to enterprise customers later this year.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The AI Embedding Business Model.

The framework puts it this way: “In the embedding era, value comes from what the software connects to.”

As we read it, the release is an example of that pattern: Adobe’s tools are connected to NVIDIA’s chips, cloud acceleration and open models, and NVIDIA’s own website runs on Adobe Brand Concierge; the framework does not discuss this release.

Where NVIDIA shows up in Adobe products per the 15 October 2026 release: Photoshop, Premiere, Substance 3D on RTX Spark; Frame.io on cloud GPUs; Brand Concierge on Nemotron; Firefly Foundry from the March partnership
From the joint Adobe and NVIDIA release of 15 October 2026: Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D are optimized for RTX Spark, Frame.io uses NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud and Brand Concierge runs on Nemotron open models; Firefly Foundry is part of the March 2026 partnership work.

What Is Not Established

The release gives no financial terms for the partnership and no price for RTX Spark. It does not set out the test conditions behind the up to 2x figure, and it calls the Frame.io numbers early results from selected workloads.

The two copies differ on timing: NVIDIA’s says RTX Spark is “launching tomorrow, Oct. 16,” while Adobe’s describes it as the superchip “which NVIDIA launched earlier this month.”

The Nemotron version of Brand Concierge is described as coming later this year, not available today, according to the release.

The Bottom Line

Adobe and NVIDIA said on 15 October 2026 that Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D are optimized for RTX Spark, with up to 2x faster AI processing, editing, color and effects. NVIDIA’s copy of the release puts the RTX Spark launch on 16 October.

The release adds faster Frame.io processing on NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud and a Nemotron version of Brand Concierge, which NVIDIA is using on its own site. The two companies say they will show more at Adobe MAX, running 10-12 November.
