Pagaya Technologies reported record GAAP net income of $50 million for the third quarter of 2026 on network volume of $3.6 billion, up 29% from a year earlier, in results filed with the SEC on 29 October 2026. Pagaya describes itself in the release as delivering “AI-driven product solutions” for the financial services industry.
By our arithmetic from the income statement, Pagaya kept $4.06 of fee revenue after production costs for every $100 of network volume, against $4.97 a year earlier. Its implied fourth-quarter network volume outlook of $2.961 billion to $3.261 billion has a midpoint about 14% below the third quarter’s $3,605 million.

An evergreen Business Engineer explainer on tranches: how securitized loans are split by who takes the first loss. It explains the general idea only and does not discuss Pagaya or these results.
The key insight: By our arithmetic, Pagaya kept $4.06 of fee revenue after production costs for every $100 of network volume in the third quarter, against $4.97 a year earlier, while network volume rose 29% to $3,605 million.
What Pagaya Reported
Total revenue and other income was $390.5 million, up 12%. Fee revenue was $362.2 million and production costs $215.7 million, leaving revenue from fees less production costs, which Pagaya calls FRLPC, of $146 million, up 5%. Pagaya says FRLPC as a share of network volume contracted by 91 basis points to 4.1%, “driven by the short-term impact of higher benchmark rates”.
Adjusted EBITDA was $130 million, up 22%, against an outlook of $120 million to $130 million. Diluted earnings per share were $0.52, against $0.23 a year earlier. Chief executive Gal Krubiner said: “Our momentum is building on itself: more partners, more products, and more applications feeding a network that is becoming essential infrastructure for consumer lending”.

Wall St Engine on X, 29 Oct, summarising Pagaya’s Q3 2026 results: revenue $390M, up 12%; adjusted EBITDA $130M, up 22%; network volume $3.6B, up 29%.
The AI and the Banks
The release says Pagaya onboarded Citizens Financial Group and First National Bank of Omaha, bringing partners onboarded in the last 12 months to 7; the shareholder letter puts new partners at 6 year to date and says application volume grew $111 billion year over year to $377 billion.
The letter points to a Wall Street Journal report that JPMorgan Chase is exploring private credit buyers to boost credit card approvals, and says: “What JPMorgan is currently evaluating through private capital, we have already built with U.S. Bank, Ally and Citizens”. It says “The combination of our embedded proprietary AI capabilities and capital markets infrastructure enables these lenders to instantly approve more customers”.
The Funding Behind the Loans
The letter says Pagaya closed three structures adding over $2 billion of committed capital: “a $700 million auto forward flow with Neuberger Berman, our second such partnership; our inaugural $700 million Personal Loan Variable Funding Note; and a second revolving Personal Loan securitization supporting $850 million of production”.
The Outlook
For the full year, Pagaya expects network volume of $12.725 billion to $13.025 billion and GAAP net income of $162 million to $182 million, and the release says it raises full-year GAAP net income guidance. Its implied fourth-quarter outlook is network volume of $2.961 billion to $3.261 billion and revenue of $355 million to $405 million.
The Structural Read
As we read the release, volume and margin moved in opposite directions: network volume rose 29% while FRLPC rose 5%, and Pagaya attributes the lower FRLPC percentage to higher benchmark rates.
As we read the letter, Pagaya is positioning its embedded AI underwriting for banks against the private-credit route the Wall Street Journal reported JPMorgan Chase is exploring.
As we read the letter, the funding side grew with the lending side: Pagaya says it closed over $2 billion of committed capital across a forward flow, a warehouse note and a securitization.

Three Implications
FOR BANK PARTNERS The letter says lenders can instantly approve more customers within their own experience, naming U.S. Bank, Ally and Citizens.
FOR LOAN INVESTORS The letter lists a $700 million auto forward flow with Neuberger Berman, a $700 million Personal Loan Variable Funding Note and a securitization supporting $850 million of production.
FOR SHAREHOLDERS The implied fourth-quarter network volume range of $2.961 billion to $3.261 billion has a midpoint about 14% below the third quarter, by our arithmetic; the documents we read give no reason.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The AI Embedding Business Model.
The framework puts it this way: “In the embedding era, value comes from what the software connects to.”
As we read it, Pagaya’s letter describes that kind of position: AI underwriting embedded inside partner banks’ own lending, connected to the capital markets that buy the loans. The framework was published in December 2025 and does not discuss Pagaya.
What Is Not Established
The release and letter we read do not explain why the implied fourth-quarter network volume range sits below the third quarter’s $3,605 million, and we did not listen to the earnings call. The release and letter we read do not say how much of its approvals its AI models decide. The $4.06 and $4.97 figures and the 14% gap are our arithmetic from the release; Pagaya reports FRLPC of 4.1% and 5.0%.
The Bottom Line
Pagaya’s network volume rose 29% to $3.6 billion and its GAAP net income reached a record $50 million. By our arithmetic, it kept $4.06 of fee revenue after production costs per $100 of volume, down from $4.97, which Pagaya attributes to higher benchmark rates, and its implied fourth-quarter volume midpoint is about 14% below the third quarter.
