Mueon Corporation, a Portland, Oregon semiconductor systems company, said on 15 October 2026 that it has raised $65 million in a Series A. Maverick Silicon led the round, with participation from Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT and Defined, according to the company’s release.
The release says the round follows a $15.5 million seed in 2025 and brings Mueon’s total raised to over $80 million. Mueon is building Cubelets, modular three-dimensional compute and memory building blocks that it says are meant to pack more AI compute into the same rack footprint.
Business Pill · TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP
A one-minute explainer of total cost of ownership: why the cheapest purchase can cost the most over its life. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any organisation in this story.
The key insight: As we read it, the release pitches Mueon at the rack rather than the chip: its stated target is up to 10x gains in power and cost efficiency within the same rack footprint, with the architecture designed to scale toward megawatt-class density.
The Terms of the Round
The release gives the size, $65 million, the stage, a Series A, and the investors: Maverick Silicon as lead, plus Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT and Defined. It does not disclose a valuation.
Manish Muthal, a senior managing director at Maverick Silicon, and Srini Ananth, a managing director at Intel Capital, will join Mueon’s board, the release says.
Mueon says it will use the money to expand its engineering and operations teams, move Cubelets from platform development toward broader system validation and production readiness, and deepen its customer engagements.

What Cubelets Are Meant to Do
The release describes Cubelets as modular, three-dimensional compute and memory building blocks. It says they densify compute at the system level, cutting the physical distance data has to travel and the power cost of moving it, without the sprawl of a traditional server rack.
The company says the architecture treats packaging, interconnect, power and thermals as first-class design variables rather than separate problems solved after the fact. It lists four execution tracks since the seed: silicon and system architecture, advanced integration, software and system orchestration, and ecosystem validation.
“This financing gives us the scale to bring the next generation of compute and memory system-scale integration to market,” said Wilfred Gomes, co-founder and CEO of Mueon, in the release.
The Claim: Up to 10x
Mueon says it is targeting up to 10x gains in power and cost efficiency within the same rack footprint, with the architecture designed to scale toward megawatt-class density. That is the company’s own target, not a measured result; the release describes Cubelets as moving toward validation and production readiness.
“Mueon is continuing to reimagine data-center design at the fundamental level,” said Srini Ananth of Intel Capital in the release.
Who Is Already Working With It
Two companies are quoted as partners in the release. Sudeep Bhoja, co-founder and CTO of d-Matrix, said a modular system architecture combined with in-memory compute can enable smaller, denser infrastructure for AI workloads.
Rohit Vidwans, co-CEO of Ampere Computing, which the release says is now part of SoftBank, said the company is pleased to work with the Mueon team as it de-risks the technology on the path toward production. The release does not name paying customers or give revenue.
The Week in AI Infrastructure Money
The round lands in a week when we covered the physical layer of AI from several angles. VAT Group, which makes vacuum valves for chipmaking tools, reported record quarterly orders. Blue Owl’s Stack Infrastructure is seeking a large loan for a Melbourne data center, Bloomberg reported. And Gartner warned that more than $3.5 trillion of AI infrastructure spending could face impairment by 2030.
As we read it, Mueon’s pitch is aimed at the cost side of that equation: if the same rack footprint can hold more compute at lower power, each dollar of data center capex buys more output.
The Structural Read
As we read it, the investor list follows that pitch: Maverick Silicon leads, and Intel Capital, whose managing director Srini Ananth joins the board, backs an architecture the release says treats packaging, interconnect, power and thermals as first-class design variables.
As we read it, the partners quoted sit on both sides of the system: d-Matrix, whose CTO Sudeep Bhoja points to in-memory compute, and Ampere Computing, which the release says is now part of SoftBank.
As we read it, the stage matters as much as the size: the release says the money moves Cubelets from platform development toward system validation and production readiness, so the up-to-10x figure is, by the release’s own account, a target at a pre-production stage.
Wilfred Gomes, co-founder and CEO of Mueon, in the release
“Mueon’s architecture is built to move past today’s rack-level constraints and deliver the kind of density the rest of the industry is only beginning to chart a path toward”
Three Implications
MUEON The release says the $65 million Series A, led by Maverick Silicon, brings its total raised to over $80 million and funds engineering, operations and validation work.
INVESTORS Manish Muthal of Maverick Silicon and Srini Ananth of Intel Capital join Mueon’s board, per the release.
DATA CENTER BUILDERS Mueon says it is targeting up to 10x gains in power and cost efficiency within the same rack footprint, designed to scale toward megawatt-class density.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The AI Capex Map.
The framework recalls that the May 2026 Map of AI argued “the seven-layer AI stack is now governed from the bottom โ energy, silicon, compute capacity.”
As we read it, Mueon’s release places its bet on exactly those bottom layers, by its own description: compute and memory density, power delivery and thermals within a rack; the framework does not discuss Mueon.

What Is Not Established
The release does not give a valuation, revenue, customer contracts, a production date or independent test results. The up-to-10x figure is a target Mueon states for itself.

The Bottom Line
Mueon says it raised $65 million in a Series A led by Maverick Silicon, with Intel Capital among the investors, bringing its total raised to over $80 million, according to its 15 October 2026 release.
The company is targeting up to 10x power and cost efficiency in the same rack footprint with its Cubelets architecture, and says the money will take the platform toward validation and production readiness.
