Grok Bot 1.0 Is on Cursor’s Servers, 77 Days After Beta

Version 1.0.0 builds of Grok Bot, the desktop agent app from SpaceXSI and Cursor, are on Cursor’s official download server under a folder named “stable”. When we checked on 31 October, the Mac and Windows files answered with HTTP 200 and carried a last-modified date of 27 October, 77 days after the 11 August beta, by our arithmetic.

TestingCatalog, which tracks unreleased features in AI apps, posted at 23:32 UTC on 30 October: “The first stable Grok Bot version is now available!” The download links had surfaced earlier that day in a post by @blankspeaker, which put the word “Official” in quotation marks.

Business Pill · AI AGENTS

A short explainer on what AI agents are and how they work. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about Grok Bot.

The key insight: Grok Bot 1.0.0 files sit in a stable folder on Cursor’s download server, dated 27 October, 77 days after the 11 August beta by our arithmetic; neither SpaceXSI nor Cursor has described the release in anything we read.

What Is on the Server

We sent header-only requests to four of the 1.0.0 links and did not download or run any file. The Apple-silicon disk image reported 155,626,891 bytes, about 156 MB, with a last-modified time of 23:14 UTC on 27 October; the Intel Mac and Windows x64 installers reported times between 23:16 and 23:19 UTC the same evening.

The @blankspeaker post, published at 14:10 UTC on 30 October, listed builds for Apple-silicon and Intel Macs and for Windows x64 and Arm, and said “you can already download it if you are curious”.

What TestingCatalog Says Is Coming

TestingCatalog says SpaceXSI “is working on the Tasks hub and texting support”. It writes that “Grok Bot will get a dedicated tab where users can see all running sessions when it works on several things at once”.

It also reports “a new setting tab named “texting”, suggesting that we may get iMessage and RCS support too”. These are features it observed in builds; neither SpaceXSI nor Cursor has described them in anything we read.

Where Grok Bot Started

GIGAZINE reported that SpaceXAI “released an early beta version of ‘Grok Bot’” on 11 August, with desktop apps for Windows and macOS and an app for iOS. Access went to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers, at $300 a month, $200 a month and $120 per user a month.

We reported that Grok Bot had 800,000 paid weekly users earlier in October, a figure Gwynne Shotwell gave on SpaceX’s third-quarter call. We also covered Grok Bot getting access to phone apps and AI agents making calls for users.

The Business Lever: An Agent App Moving From Beta to a Stable Channel

As we read it, moving the files to a folder named “stable” marks the end of the beta label for this app. Grok Bot’s access, per GIGAZINE, runs through paid tiers that cost $120 to $300 a month, so the agent is sold as part of those subscriptions rather than on its own.

The Structural Read

As we read the server headers, the Mac and Windows 1.0.0 files were all written within about five minutes on the evening of 27 October, three days before the links surfaced on X.

As we read GIGAZINE’s pricing, Grok Bot reaches users through subscriptions that cost $120 to $300 a month rather than as a separate purchase.

As we read TestingCatalog’s report, the next features it saw, a Tasks hub for parallel sessions and a texting tab, extend the agent across more of a user’s work.

Three Implications

FOR GROK BOT SUBSCRIBERS GIGAZINE says access runs through SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium.

FOR RIVAL AGENT APPS TestingCatalog reports a Tasks hub that shows all running sessions when Grok Bot works on several things at once.

FOR WHAT IS STILL UNKNOWN We found no release note from SpaceXSI or Cursor describing what changed in 1.0 in what we checked.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Agentic Harness War.

The framework argues: “The surface, not the model, governs autonomy.”

As we read it, a desktop agent app reaching a stable channel is one such surface. The framework predates Grok Bot 1.0 and does not discuss it.

What Is Not Established

We did not find a release note or announcement from SpaceXSI or Cursor describing version 1.0 in what we checked by 06:50 UTC on 31 October, so what changed from the beta is not established. Pricing for 1.0 and the availability of the Tasks hub and texting features are also not established; the iOS and Android versions were not part of what we checked.

Execution Fault Lines, Concentrated Demand, and Geopolitical Firewalls

This week’s issue: the AI build is not short of demand for its parts. It is short of cheap money, and its end revenue rests on a narrow base of large, often venture-funded buyers.

The Bottom Line

Grok Bot 1.0.0 files sit in a “stable” folder on Cursor’s download server, dated 27 October, 77 days after the August beta by our arithmetic. TestingCatalog reports a Tasks hub and a texting tab in development; neither company has described the release in anything we read.

95,000+ executives read Business Engineer for the AI strategy frameworks cited by ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity.

A note on sourcing. The file sizes and dates come from header-only requests we sent to Cursor’s download server on 31 October; we did not download, install or run Grok Bot. Features in development are as reported by TestingCatalog. Beta details are from GIGAZINE. We did not contact SpaceXSI or Cursor. Figures labelled our arithmetic are our own.
