Astera Labs Outlook Points to a $2B Year, 2.4x 2025 Sales

What Was Posted on X

Wall St Engine, an account that posts earnings figures on X, shared this card on Astera Labs’ quarter at 21:09 UTC on 3 November. Its revenue, earnings-per-share, margin and outlook figures match the company’s release; the estimates in brackets are as cited by the account and we have not verified them. The card does not add up the year; the 2026 total in this piece is our arithmetic.

Astera Labs expects fourth-quarter revenue of $730 million to $750 million, according to the earnings release it filed with the SEC on 3 November. Added to the $1.286 billion it reported for the first nine months, that puts 2026 revenue at $2.02 billion to $2.04 billion, about 2.4 times the $852.5 million it reported for 2025, by our arithmetic.

Third-quarter revenue was a record $584.9 million, up 49% from the second quarter and 154% from a year earlier. The company says its Scorpio fabric switches became its largest product family by revenue.

Chief executive Jitendra Mohan said the expansion of its connectivity platform and new design wins “position us to strongly grow our dollar content per accelerator and further increase our total market opportunity”.

The key insight: By our arithmetic, Astera Labs’ nine-month revenue of $1.286 billion plus its $730 million to $750 million fourth-quarter outlook would make 2026 revenue $2.02 billion to $2.04 billion, about 2.4 times 2025, while GAAP gross margin has fallen to 72.3% from 76.2% a year earlier.

What Astera Labs Reported

Revenue was $584.9 million in the third quarter, against $392.4 million in the second and $230.6 million a year earlier. GAAP operating income was $179.1 million, a 30.6% margin, and GAAP net income $182.9 million, or $0.99 a diluted share. On a non-GAAP basis, operating margin was 44.7% and diluted earnings per share $1.32.

Mohan said growth was “led by Scorpio, which ramped to high-volume production and became our largest product family by revenue”. The release does not give revenue by product family or by customer.

Astera Labs’ quarterly revenue, Q1 2025 to Q3 2026, $ million, with GAAP gross margin and its fourth-quarter 2026 outlook range, from its 8-K Exhibit 99.1 release of 3 November 2026 and earlier 10-Q and 10-K filings (SEC XBRL). Fourth-quarter 2025 revenue, gross margins, the implied 2026 total and the 2.4x multiple are our arithmetic; the fourth-quarter bar is an outlook, not a result.
Animated version of the revenue chart: Astera Labs’ quarterly revenue, Q1 2025 to Q3 2026, $ million, from its 8-K Exhibit 99.1 release of 3 November 2026 and earlier 10-Q and 10-K filings (SEC XBRL). Fourth-quarter 2025 revenue and the implied 2026 total are our arithmetic.

The Margin Line

GAAP gross margin was 72.3%, against 73.3% in the second quarter and 76.2% a year earlier. Astera guides fourth-quarter GAAP gross margin to approximately 72%. Gross profit rose to $422.8 million from $287.6 million in the second quarter.

The release does not explain the lower margin. The quarterly GAAP gross margin was between 74.9% and 76.3% in each quarter from early 2025 to the first quarter of 2026, by our arithmetic from Astera’s 10-Q and 10-K filings.

What the Outlook Implies

Beyond revenue, Astera guides fourth-quarter GAAP operating expenses to $273 million to $279 million and GAAP diluted earnings per share to approximately $1.13 to $1.17, or $1.62 to $1.66 on a non-GAAP basis.

Fourth-quarter 2025 revenue was $270.6 million, by our arithmetic from the 10-K. The $740 million midpoint would be about 2.7 times that and about 27% above the third quarter. Nine-month 2026 revenue of $1.286 billion already exceeds 2025’s full-year $852.5 million.

Where the Money Sits

Accounts receivable rose to $284.3 million at 30 September from $83.2 million at the end of 2025, and inventory to $200.9 million from $59.0 million. Cash and marketable securities totalled $1.38 billion, by our arithmetic. Operations generated $341.5 million of cash in the first nine months.

The cash flow statement also shows $30.4 million of “warrants contra revenue” for the nine months, against $4.0 million a year earlier. The release lists a warrant agreement with Amazon among its collaborations.

Against the Card on X

Wall St Engine, an account that posts earnings figures on X, put revenue at $584.9 million against an estimate of $551 million and cited an estimate of $656 million for fourth-quarter revenue. Its revenue, earnings and margin figures match the filing; we have not verified the estimates.

How Each Side Reads These Figures

For readers who see strength, the figures include revenue up 154%, a non-GAAP operating margin of 44.7%, and a fourth-quarter outlook that would take 2026 revenue to about 2.4 times 2025’s.

For readers who see caution, the figures include a GAAP gross margin of 72.3%, down from 76.2% a year earlier, receivables up about 3.4 times since December, and stock-based compensation of $82.6 million in the quarter. We cite no analysts’ views here.

Connecting the Coverage

Astera sells connectivity chips for rack-scale AI systems. Tonight we also covered AMD’s $17 billion outlook. Earlier on 3 November we reported on Nvidia’s rack shipments and Nvidia retaking the top market-value spot from Apple; in October we covered Arista’s Ethernet AI racks.

The Structural Read

As we read it, the quarter shows a mix shift the release names but does not price: Scorpio switches became the largest product family as gross margin moved down from the mid-70s to about 72%, though the release gives no product-level margins.

As we read it, the outlook is the larger disclosure than the beat: the $740 million midpoint is about 2.7 times the fourth quarter of 2025, by our arithmetic, and the release guides gross margin to stay near 72%.

As we read it, the working-capital lines grew faster than sales: receivables rose about 3.4 times and inventory about 3.4 times since December, while nine-month revenue was about 2.2 times the same period of 2025, by our arithmetic.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Nine Layers of AI.

The framework puts it this way: “This entire ecosystem has been shaped by constraints, bottlenecks, chokepoints, and scarcity at every layer.”

As we read it, Astera sells into one of those constraints, the links between chips, memory and racks, and its release frames growth as more dollar content per accelerator. The framework was published in May 2026 and does not discuss Astera Labs’ quarter.

What Is Not Established

This piece is based on Astera Labs’ third-quarter 2026 earnings release, filed as Exhibit 99.1 to its 8-K of 3 November 2026, and its earlier 10-Q and 10-K filings as tagged in SEC XBRL data. The implied 2026 total, the 2.4 times multiple, fourth-quarter 2025 revenue, earlier gross margins and the receivables multiple are our arithmetic, not company statements.

The release does not give revenue by product or customer, or the reason for the lower gross margin. The 10-Q for the quarter had not been filed when we read the release, so its risk factors are not covered. Astera scheduled its call for 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time (21:30 UTC); we had not heard it when we wrote this piece. We did not contact Astera Labs.
