Unitree, the Chinese humanoid and quadruped robot maker, reported third-quarter revenue of 665.04 million yuan, up 69.93% from a year earlier, in its 2026 third-quarter report filed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR market and dated 29 October 2026 (Beijing time) on the exchange’s disclosure platform, cninfo. Net profit attributable to shareholders fell 17.37% to 112.69 million yuan, while research and development investment rose 249.58% to 127.04 million yuan.
In plain words, sales grew fast but the company spent far more on research, and quarterly profit fell. By our arithmetic, the filing’s 404,464,340 shares at the 28 October close of 695.90 yuan put Unitree’s market value at about 281.5 billion yuan, roughly $42.2 billion at 6.666 yuan per dollar. That is about 106 times the third quarter’s revenue multiplied by four.

The key insight: As we read it, Unitree’s quarter splits two ways: revenue up 69.93% and research investment up 249.58%, while quarterly net profit fell 17.37%, and the share price values the company at about 106 times third-quarter revenue multiplied by four, by our arithmetic.
What Unitree Reported

- Revenue. Third-quarter revenue was 665,044,497.90 yuan, up 69.93%, and revenue for the first nine months was 1,817,290,048.48 yuan, up 55.71%, according to the filing. The filing attributes the growth mainly to product innovation, business expansion and a broader product range.
- Profit. Net profit attributable to shareholders was 112.69 million yuan in the quarter, down 17.37%, and 386.69 million yuan for the nine months, up 270.54%. The filing attributes the nine-month increase to revenue growth and to a large one-off share-based payment expense recognised in the prior year.
- Profit before one-off items. Excluding non-recurring items, net profit was 105.04 million yuan in the quarter, down 17.42%, and 348.97 million yuan for the nine months, down 18.78%.
- Research. Research and development investment was 127.04 million yuan in the quarter, up 249.58%, or 19.10% of revenue. The filing attributes the increase mainly to higher spending on embodied-intelligence research, especially embodied large-model development and computing power, a larger research team and new products.

Cash, Inventory and the IPO Money
- Operating cash flow. A net inflow of 193.71 million yuan for the first nine months, down 54.69%. The filing attributes the decline to higher payments for goods and services, staff, sales and research as revenue grew.
- Inventory. 1,019.36 million yuan at 30 September, against 367.75 million yuan at the end of 2025: about 2.8 times, by our arithmetic.
- Cash. 7,354.02 million yuan, against 1,419.26 million yuan at the end of 2025. Total assets rose 216.52%, which the filing attributes mainly to the proceeds of its initial public offering, completed during the reporting period.
- Founder stake. Founder Wang Xingxing holds 86,714,964 shares, or 21.44%, according to the shareholder table. At the 28 October close, that stake is worth about 60.3 billion yuan by our arithmetic.
How We Worked Out the Multiple
Unitree did not publish a market value or a valuation multiple. Our calculation uses three inputs: the 404,464,340 shares in the filing’s balance sheet, the 695.90-yuan close on 28 October as shown by the Sina Finance quote service, and the third quarter’s revenue of 665.04 million yuan. 404,464,340 shares times 695.90 yuan is about 281.47 billion yuan. Third-quarter revenue times four is about 2.66 billion yuan.
The ratio is about 105.8, which we round to 106. The dollar figure uses the 6.666 onshore rate shown by Sina on 28 October. The multiple moves with the share price, which closed up 8.74% on the day.
Connecting the Coverage
Our Wang Xingxing piece reported that Unitree’s founder told Bloomberg he now expects humanoid robots to complete 80% of assigned tasks after verbal orders as soon as 2028, a threshold Bloomberg described as his own. What’s new: the third-quarter report shows the research spending behind that push, up 249.58% in the quarter, with the filing pointing to embodied large models and computing power.
Our UBS humanoid map piece counted 87 companies across six layers of the humanoid robot supply chain in a UBS research figure. Our Moore Threads piece covered another newly listed Chinese AI hardware company whose third-quarter filing showed revenue up 1,773.92%, with about 59% of quarterly profit from non-recurring items by our arithmetic. Our China AI index piece reported that Moore Threads and MetaX had halved in value since July, according to a Reuters analysis.
The Structural Read
As we read it, the filing ties the research jump first to embodied large models and computing power, and only then to a larger research team and new products.
Inventory reached about 2.8 times its end-2025 level by our arithmetic, while nine-month operating cash flow fell 54.69%, which the filing attributes to higher payments as revenue grew.
The nine-month profit rise of 270.54% reflects, the filing says, revenue growth and a large one-off share-based payment expense in the prior year; excluding non-recurring items, nine-month profit fell 18.78%.

Three Implications
FOR UNITREE The filing shows research investment at 19.10% of quarterly revenue, up 9.82 percentage points from a year earlier.
FOR INVESTORS By our arithmetic, the 28 October close values Unitree at about 106 times third-quarter revenue multiplied by four; the multiple moves with the share price, which rose 8.74% on the day.
FOR THE HUMANOID SUPPLY CHAIN Our UBS humanoid map piece counted 87 companies across six layers; Unitree’s inventory rose to about 2.8 times its end-2025 level by our arithmetic.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Nine Layers of AI.
The framework describes AI as a stack whose lower layers are physical: “We are entering a phase where four scaling laws are simultaneously shaping the AI ecosystem, while several converging forces are radically transforming the physical layers underpinning AI itself.”
Unitree’s filing records one robot maker’s spending on embodied large models and computing power. The framework does not discuss Unitree.
What Is Not Established
The filing is unaudited. It does not break revenue down by product, name customers, or give a sales outlook. The market value and the 106x multiple are our arithmetic from the share count and one day’s closing price; they are not figures Unitree reported, and they change with the share price. Revenue for a single quarter multiplied by four is a simple annualisation, not a forecast. We did not contact Unitree. Nothing here is investment advice.
The Bottom Line
Unitree’s filing shows third-quarter revenue up 69.93% to 665.04 million yuan, quarterly net profit down 17.37% to 112.69 million yuan, and research and development investment up 249.58%. By our arithmetic, its 28 October market value was about 106 times its third-quarter revenue multiplied by four.
