Skeleton Technologies, which makes high-power systems for AI data centers, announced on 14 October 2026 a strategic investment from Siemens that brings its valuation to more than $1 billion. Chief executive Taavi Madiberk called it “This 9-digit investment round led by Siemens”; the exact amount was not disclosed.
Over the same two days, Abby Care raised an $82 million Series C, according to Fortune, Stand raised $70 million at a $1 billion valuation, and Mueon raised $65 million for modular AI compute, according to their announcements.

A Business Engineer explainer on GPUs, the chips AI runs on. It covers the concept in general and says nothing about these funding rounds.
The key insight: As we read it, the money in these announcements follows the bottlenecks of running AI: Skeleton says its round is for power systems that handle GPU load swings, Mueon for denser compute and memory, and North.cloud for managing cloud and AI spend.
Skeleton and AI Data-Center Power
Skeleton says the investment will “primarily accelerate the expansion of Skeleton’s US manufacturing footprint and R&D activities in Silicon Valley” to meet hyperscaler demand for AI data-center power systems. It plans to invest more than $200 million in operational scale-up and R&D in Silicon Valley, and its wider US expansion includes plans for domestic cell manufacturing.
The company says GPU clusters can shift between power states in milliseconds, creating rapid load swings, and that its Curved Graphene cells, combined with power electronics, manage those swings close to the workload. Siemens supported Skeleton’s expansion in 2023, and Siemens Digital Industries designed and automated its Leipzig SuperFactory, according to the release.

Compute and Cloud Spend
Mueon, a Portland, Oregon semiconductor systems company, announced $65 million in a Series A led by Maverick Silicon, with Intel Capital among the participants. It says capital raised is now over $80M to date, and that the money will move its Cubelets, modular three-dimensional compute and memory building blocks, towards system validation and production readiness.
North.cloud, which calls itself the financial operating system for cloud, AI and data, closed $60 million in Series B funding led by PeakSpan Capital. It says it manages nearly $2 billion in cloud spend, and that its latest release added native integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic and Snowflake.
Care, Insurance and Radiology
Fortune reported on 15 October, as an exclusive, that Abby Care raised an $82 million Series C led by Transformation Capital, with CVS Health Ventures, Frist Cressey Ventures and Pivotal Ventures as new investors and Khosla Ventures, Thrive Capital and Sequoia returning. Fortune describes the company as “an AI-native home care startup that trains family members to become certified, paid caregivers”.
Stand announced a $70 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation, led by Saga Ventures. It says total raised is now $130M and that it insures more than $10 billion of property, up from $1 billion a year ago, using a model that simulates how each home performs under fire and wind.
Sirona Medical, which sells cloud-native radiology software, announced $40 million in Series D financing led by Avidity Partners. “The round funds Sirona’s operating plan indefinitely,” the company says, and part of it goes to Cortex, which it calls an agentic AI orchestration layer.
Agents in the Back Office
Dougs, a Lyon-based accounting platform for small businesses, announced a €50 million round from existing investor Expedition Growth Capital. It says it serves more than 50,000 businesses with more than €50 million in annual recurring revenue, and that “The next milestone is agentically produced financial statements, checked and signed by a chartered accountant.”
Duvo announced a $32 million Series A led by Balderton Capital, bringing its total funding to $48 million. It describes itself as an Enterprise Execution OS in which people and AI agents run governed processes across the systems a company already has.
Meow accepted a $31.6M Series B led by Stifel, with Archetype participating, taking its total funding to over $60M. Under the deal, “Stifel will offer a white-label version of Meow’s platform to its commercial banking clients, starting with venture and fund banking”, and Meow lists agentic compliance among the features.
Energy, and Ramp for Scale
Rabot Energy, a German supplier of dynamic electricity tariffs, raised a $50M Series B led by Endeit, according to Endeit’s post. Endeit says Rabot aggregates connected home batteries into a virtual power plant, and that the money will connect more devices, from EV chargers to heat pumps.
Ramp’s round on 15 October was larger than any of these; we reported that Ramp raises about $1.85B at a roughly $60B valuation.
The Structural Read
As we read it, Siemens is buying into the power layer: Skeleton says the partnership targets AI data-center infrastructure and hyperscaler demand in the United States, with more than $200 million planned for scale-up and R&D in Silicon Valley.
As we read it, agents are moving into regulated back offices: Dougs says its next milestone is financial statements produced by agents and signed by an accountant, and Meow lists agentic compliance in the platform Stifel will offer banks.
As we read it, two of the companies priced themselves at the $1 billion mark: Skeleton says its valuation is now more than $1 billion and Stand says it raised at a $1 billion valuation; the others did not state one.

“AI is scaling faster than the power infrastructure behind it.”
Three Implications
DATA-CENTER OPERATORS Skeleton says GPU clusters can shift between power states in milliseconds, and that its US expansion includes plans to establish domestic cell manufacturing.
FINANCE AND OPERATIONS LEADERS Duvo, Dougs and North.cloud each describe software that runs finance or operations work with AI, from supplier processes to bookkeeping to cloud commitments.
READERS COMPARING ROUNDS Only Skeleton and Stand stated valuations, Skeleton did not disclose its round size, and Rabot’s dollar figure comes from its lead investor.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The State of AI Data Centers.
The framework describes a gap between new data-center demand and available grid capacity, and argues: “Companies that solve the power equation will dominate the AI era; those that don’t will watch their chips sit idle.”
As we read it, Skeleton’s round is a bet on one part of that power equation, the swings inside the data center rather than grid supply. The framework predates the announcement and does not discuss it.

What Is Not Established
Skeleton did not disclose the size of its round beyond the chief executive’s “9-digit” description. Only Skeleton and Stand stated a valuation; the other companies did not.
Abby Care’s round is reported by Fortune as an exclusive, and we read Fortune’s report rather than a company release. Rabot’s dollar figure comes from its lead investor. Customer, revenue and spend figures are the companies’ own. We read each announcement on 17 October 2026 and did not contact the companies.
The Bottom Line
Siemens led a strategic investment that Skeleton says lifts its valuation above $1 billion, aimed at US manufacturing of power systems for AI data centers.
In the same two days, Abby Care, Stand and Mueon announced the largest disclosed rounds among these companies, at $82 million, $70 million and $65 million.
