GenRobot AI, a Beijing-based company that turns recordings of people doing physical tasks into training data for robots, has completed a $100 million Series A+ round, TechNode reported on 2 November, citing Sina Finance. The round closed in the third quarter and was disclosed on 2 November.
The effective data GenRobot delivers has risen from 100,000 hours in a single quarter to 1 million hours in a single quarter, a 10x jump, the Chinese investment outlet PEdaily (投资界) reported the same day. The company plans to deliver 10 million hours in a single quarter in 2027, according to the report.
The key insight: TechNode reported on 2 November that GenRobot AI, which records people doing physical tasks to train robots, has completed a $100 million Series A+, and PEdaily reported that the effective data it delivers rose from 100,000 to 1 million hours in a single quarter.
Who Put Money In
The industrial investors are SAIC Motor, Malaysia’s Eastworlds, Baidu, Shoucheng Holdings and Galaxy General Robotics (Galbot), according to TechNode. Financial investors include GL Ventures, CITIC Goldstone, CCB International and Huatai Zijin, TechNode reported. The reports give no valuation.
Gasgoo reported on 26 August that GenRobot had closed a Series A led by Momenta. At that point it had raised over $200 million in total across seven consecutive rounds in the year since it was founded, according to Gasgoo. The reports do not say whether the A+ round is part of that total.

What GenRobot Sells
GenRobot makes equipment and software for recording human demonstrations, TechNode reported. Its recording systems capture what the operator sees together with hand and body movements in household, manufacturing and logistics tasks. Its Matrix platform then synchronizes, cleans and labels those recordings for robot developers to use in training and evaluation.
Its data now covers household, industrial, logistics and medical settings, thousands of skills and more than 1 million hours, PEdaily reported, citing the company’s website. GenRobot works with more than 30 AI companies in China and abroad, according to the report.
Earlier this year GenRobot released an open dataset of over 13,000 hours of body-agnostic data for embodied AI and world models, Gasgoo reported in August. The company plans to launch new data-capture products, Ego 2.0 and Dex 2.0, during the CoRL robotics conference, PEdaily reported.

The Number We Computed
If GenRobot reaches its 2027 plan, 10 million hours in a quarter would be 100 times the 100,000-hour quarter PEdaily cites as its starting point, by our arithmetic. The 2027 figure is the company’s plan, not a result, and PEdaily does not date the earlier quarter.
The round adds to the money going into robot training data and the robot makers that would use it, which we have tracked in Dream Labs’ $90 million raise for robot AI and the 87 humanoid robot players in our earlier map. Our earlier piece on who buys a dead startup’s data looked at the market for training data more broadly.
The Structural Read
As we read the reports, the investor list mixes a carmaker (SAIC), a search and AI company (Baidu) and a humanoid robot maker (Galbot) with financial investors; the reports give no valuation.
As we read PEdaily’s figures, the company is selling hours of recorded human skill as its unit of output: 1 million hours in a single quarter now, and a plan for 10 million hours in a single quarter in 2027.
GenRobot AI’s stated philosophy, as reported by Gasgoo
“From Human for Human. From Model for Model.”
Three Implications
FOR ROBOT MAKERS GenRobot’s Matrix platform synchronizes, cleans and labels recordings for robot developers to use in training and evaluation, TechNode reported.
FOR INVESTORS The reports give no valuation for the $100 million Series A+, which closed in the third quarter, according to TechNode.
FOR THE DATA SUPPLY PEdaily reported that GenRobot works with more than 30 AI companies in China and abroad and plans 10 million hours of delivered data in a single quarter in 2027.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Four Intelligence Moats.
The framework’s premise is about data pipelines: “Each moat is built by a different data pipeline.”
As we read it, GenRobot is selling one such pipeline, recorded human demonstrations for robots, to other AI companies. The framework is the owner’s argument and does not discuss GenRobot.

What Is Not Established
The reports give no valuation, no size for any single investor’s stake and no revenue figure. The delivery figures come from PEdaily’s report; we did not see GenRobot’s own announcement. We have not independently checked the hours delivered.
The Bottom Line
GenRobot’s $100 million Series A+ counts SAIC, Baidu and Galbot among its investors, according to TechNode. PEdaily reported that the effective data it delivers rose 10x to 1 million hours in a single quarter, with 10 million hours a quarter planned for 2027, 100 times the starting quarter by our arithmetic.
