Anthropic’s careers board listed 681 open roles at 06:08 UTC on 4 November 2026, and 79 of them name Claude Code in the job title or the job text, about 11.6% by our count. Of the 26 Claude Code listings first posted in the last 30 days, 20 sit in two departments, Sales (8) and Applied AI (12), according to the department labels Anthropic puts on its own board.
In plain words, as we read the listings: the new job ads that mention Claude Code are mostly for people who sell it and help customers put it to work, not for people who build it. Only one of the 26 sits in Anthropic’s Engineering & Design: Product department. The count follows our 3 November piece on Cat Wu, whose X profile reads “claude code + cowork @anthropicai”.

The key insight: By our count of Anthropic’s own careers board, 79 of its 681 open listings name Claude Code, and 20 of the 26 posted in the last 30 days sit in Sales or Applied AI. As we read the listings, Anthropic’s newest Claude Code hiring is mostly about getting the product deployed at customers.
We read every open listing on Anthropic’s board and counted those whose title or description contains the words Claude Code. By Anthropic’s own department labels, the 79 listings split this way, with roles first posted in the last 30 days in brackets:

By our arithmetic, Sales and Applied AI hold 46 of the 79 listings, about 58%, and 20 of the 26 posted in the last 30 days, about 77%. Eighteen listings name Cowork, and 15 of those also name Claude Code.

What the Listings Ask For
Three Applied AI Architect listings for the public sector, first posted between 22 October and 3 November, ask the hire to “Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise”. Four customer success and AI outcomes listings in Sales describe helping customers “harness the full potential of all our Claude capabilities – API, Claude Code, Cowork, and other surface areas”.
An Activation Manager listing in Sales says: “You’ll guide organizations from contract signature to production deployment across Claude for Enterprise, Claude Code, and our API products”. Two product designer listings ask for people “already using tools like Claude Code to extend what you can build”.
A few titles name the products directly: Staff Software Engineer, Claude Code (first posted 7 August); Model Performance Software Engineer, Claude Code (2 February); Staff+ Software Engineer, Claude Managed Agents (20 August); and Engineering Manager, Claude Platform (14 October). Newer titles carry agent work: Staff Research Engineer, Multi-Agent Scaling (2 October); Security Risk & Compliance, Agent Security (5 October); and Technical Program Manager, Agent Safety & Security (21 October).
The Whole Board
Across all 681 open roles, 198 were first posted in the last 30 days. The largest departments on Anthropic’s board at 06:08 UTC, with roles first posted in the last 30 days in brackets:

By our arithmetic, 28 of Applied AI’s 67 open roles, about 42%, were first posted in the last 30 days, close to Finance (22 of 49, about 45%) and Compute (13 of 29, about 45%), against 34 of 125 in Sales, about 27%.
What Changed Since 2 November
The FourWeekMBA AI jobs tracker reads the same feed every day. On 2 November it counted 673 open Anthropic roles, 175 of them posted in the previous 30 days. On 4 November it counted 681 and 198. By our arithmetic, that is 8 more open roles and 23 more recent postings in two days; the 30-day window also moved by two days.
By the tracker’s own function labels, which sort job titles by keyword, engineering roles held at 302, sales and go-to-market roles went from 122 to 118, and finance and operations roles went from 106 to 113.
Track Who Is Hiring
Every Anthropic role in these counts opens on Anthropic’s own site from our AI jobs board, filtered to Anthropic. The AI Company Index ranks 155 AI companies by open roles. The same page carries the free weekly AI hiring report: who is hiring for what, which roles are new, and what it says about where AI money is going.
As we read the listings, the job text shows where Claude Code now sits in what Anthropic sells: the Sales and Applied AI listings name it next to the Claude API and Claude for Enterprise, as one of several products a customer can buy.
As we read the board, the build side is smaller in recent postings: titles such as Staff Software Engineer, Claude Code and Staff+ Software Engineer, Claude Managed Agents sit in Engineering & Design: Product, where one of the 26 recent Claude Code listings was posted.
As we read the two tracker snapshots, the board grew by 8 open roles and 23 recent postings between 2 and 4 November, our arithmetic, while the sales and go-to-market count by the tracker’s labels went from 122 to 118.

Three Implications
FOR JOB SEEKERS Most new Claude Code listings are in Sales and Applied AI, by Anthropic’s own department labels, and every role opens on Anthropic’s own site from our AI jobs board.
FOR COMPANIES BUYING CLAUDE CODE Three public-sector Applied AI Architect listings first posted since 22 October ask the hire to support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API and Claude for Enterprise.
FOR AI COMPANIES HIRING FOR THE SAME SKILLS Anthropic’s board listed 198 roles first posted in the last 30 days, 34 of them in Sales and 28 in Applied AI.
The framework puts it this way: “technical capability has far outpaced organizational readiness.”
As we read it, Anthropic’s board fits that idea: its newest Claude Code listings sit mostly in the teams that work with customers after a sale, not in the team that builds the product. The framework was published in November 2025 and does not discuss these listings.
These are open postings, not hires: one posting can cover several hires or none, and the board does not show headcount or hiring budgets. Our Claude Code count is a text match, so a listing that mentions the product once counts the same as one built around it. Department labels are Anthropic’s; function labels in the tracker comparison are our own. Anthropic did not comment for this piece; we did not ask it to.
