Neolix Technologies, a Chinese maker of driverless delivery vehicles, has raised $400 million “to fuel its global expansion,” Bloomberg reported on 20 October 2026, citing a statement from the Beijing-based startup. Boyu Capital led the Series E round, and new investors included Alibaba Group’s AEF NextGen Fund, Bloomberg said.
The round brings the total Neolix has raised to more than $1.4 billion, the company said, without disclosing its valuation, according to Bloomberg. Neolix’s Chinese-language announcement, as carried by 36Kr, describes the round as nearly $400 million.
Business Pill · PHYSICAL AI
A one-minute explainer of physical AI: what changes when AI gets a body, from robots to driverless vehicles. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any company in this story.
The key insight: As we read it, Neolix is raising for scale it says it already has: about $400 million in a Series E, Bloomberg reported, on top of a fleet Chinese media put at more than 30,000 vehicles in 20 countries.
Who Invested
Bloomberg listed the new investors as Alibaba’s AEF NextGen Fund, Monolith Management, Granite Asia Capital and Temasek-backed Vertex, with existing shareholders including Stone Venture and Trustar Capital also taking part.
The Chinese-language version differs on the lead. 36Kr reported that Boyu Capital and an unnamed national-level fund co-led the round. Neither report names that fund.
36Kr also reported that the round is the largest single financing in China’s autonomous driving sector this year, and that Neolix’s cumulative financing now exceeds RMB 10 billion.

How Big the Fleet Is
Neolix now has more than 30,000 driverless vehicles operating in more than 300 cities across 20 countries, Chinese tech outlet Kuai Keji reported on 20 October 2026, citing the STAR Market Daily.
Founder Yu Enyuan said in a recent interview that the company expects its domestic fleet to reach 50,000 vehicles this year, and plans to add another 100,000 in 2027, Kuai Keji reported. Those are the company’s plans, not results.
A year earlier, in its Series D release on 23 October 2025, Neolix said it had delivered more than 10,000 L4 RoboVans and raised more than US$600 million in that round.
By our arithmetic, the reported fleet is about three times the delivery count Neolix gave a year ago. The two figures measure different things, vehicles operating now against vehicles delivered then, so the comparison is approximate.
What the Money Is For
Neolix said it will use the funds to scale its business and add customers for its driverless delivery vehicles, which mainly serve express couriers, e-commerce platforms and small businesses, according to Kuai Keji.
The company’s statement, as carried by Sina, says the money will go mainly to building out its global operations and service network and to an end-to-end large-model data training loop, to raise its autonomous driving safety level and cut vehicle lifetime costs.
The Structural Read
As we read it, the investor list is the signal: Alibaba’s AEF NextGen Fund and Temasek-backed Vertex came in as new investors, per Bloomberg, and 36Kr says an unnamed national-level fund co-led.
As we read it, the fleet math is steep: Neolix said it had delivered more than 10,000 L4 RoboVans in October 2025, and its founder now targets 50,000 in China this year and another 100,000 in 2027, per Kuai Keji.
As we read it, the money is meant for the network, not the vehicle alone: the company’s statement, as carried by Sina, points the funds at its global operations network and an end-to-end large-model data training loop.

Three Implications
A BIGGER CHEQUE Neolix has raised $400 million in a Series E led by Boyu Capital, taking its total past $1.4 billion, per Bloomberg.
A FLEET TARGET Founder Yu Enyuan expects a domestic fleet of 50,000 vehicles this year and plans another 100,000 in 2027, Kuai Keji reported.
A GLOBAL PUSH Bloomberg says the money is to fuel its global expansion, and Kuai Keji puts the fleet in 20 countries.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework AI’s Geopolitical Chokepoint.
The framework says “Every ChatGPT query, every autonomous vehicle, every data center promising to reshape civilization depends on copper mined in Chile”.
As we read it, a fleet of tens of thousands of driverless vans is AI in physical form, which is the layer the framework describes. The framework was published in December 2025 and does not discuss Neolix.
What Is Not Established
Neolix did not disclose a valuation, and the national-level fund that 36Kr says co-led the round is not named. Bloomberg describes Boyu Capital as the lead.
The fleet size and the 2026 and 2027 targets come from Chinese media reports of Neolix and its founder, not from an audited figure. Bloomberg reports $400 million, while the Chinese-language announcement says nearly $400 million.
The Bottom Line
Neolix has raised $400 million in a Series E led by Boyu Capital, with Alibaba’s AEF NextGen Fund among the new investors, Bloomberg reported on 20 October 2026, taking its total funding past $1.4 billion as it pushes its driverless delivery vans abroad.
