The White House announced on 8 October 2026 US$2.4 billion in what it calls super intelligence (SI) for science tools and compute credits from eleven industry partners, committed to the Genesis Mission Consortium, according to a fact sheet issued at its Science: A New Golden Age Summit.
NVIDIA pledged US$1 billion and AMD US$500 million, the fact sheet says, followed by OpenAI at US$200 million and Anthropic and Google at US$150 million each.
Business Pill · MATCHING FUNDS
A one-minute explainer of matching funds: public money paired with private money. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any company or government in this story.
The key insight: As we read it, the pledge is mostly computing capacity from the companies that sell it. The fact sheet describes the commitments as tools and compute credits, and the two chipmakers account for about 63% of the US$2.4 billion on our arithmetic.
Who Pledged What
The fact sheet lists the remaining commitments as US$100 million each from AMP and Emerald AI and US$50 million each from AWS, Armada, Crusoe and Micron. It says the resources will support over 15 federal agencies working towards National Science & Technology Challenges.
On our arithmetic, NVIDIA and AMD together account for US$1.5 billion, about 63% of the total, and the three model developers, OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, for US$500 million, about 21%.
Crusoe’s own release gives more detail on its share: US$50 million in AI compute credits over three years, delivered through its Crusoe Cloud platform, with technical support for researchers at agencies including the DOE, NASA, NIH and NSF.

The Wider Package
The White House says the summit’s initiatives represent over US$6 billion in investments across the federal government, industry, academia and philanthropy. The industry pledges follow the expansion of the Genesis Mission in July to over 15 federal agencies and a US$5 billion federal commitment, it says.
Other items in the fact sheet include a US$1 billion investment in scientific computing announced by universities, industry and the State of Georgia; over US$100 million from NSF and DOE for SI-enabled scientific instrumentation and autonomous laboratories; and a US$100 million Genesis Mission Fellowship for accelerated four-year PhDs.
“The efforts announced today will channel billions of dollars across our science ecosystem to realize the new scientific opportunities that now exist,” said Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, according to the fact sheet.
The Structural Read
The list is weighted to hardware. NVIDIA and AMD account for US$1.5 billion of the US$2.4 billion, on our arithmetic from the fact sheet’s figures.
The model developers pledged less. OpenAI, Anthropic and Google together account for US$500 million, about 21%, on the same arithmetic.
Terms are mostly unstated. Crusoe’s release gives three years for its share; the fact sheet itself lists amounts without periods or allocation rules.

“Today marks the most transformative day for the American scientific enterprise since the reshaping of the Federal research ecosystem following World War II.”
Three Implications
MEASURED IN CREDITS The fact sheet describes the pledges as SI for science tools and compute credits.
TWO LARGEST PLEDGES NVIDIA and AMD account for about 63% of the US$2.4 billion, our arithmetic.
OVER 15 AGENCIES The fact sheet says the resources will support over 15 federal agencies working on national challenges.
The Business Engineer Lens
This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Subsidized AGI Economy.
The framework’s starting point: “The negative margin is not a leak. It is a procurement budget.”
As we read it, compute credits follow a related logic in a public setting: providers supply capacity on their own platforms, and federal researchers become users of those platforms. The fact sheet does not say what, if anything, the companies receive in return.
What Is Not Established

The Bottom Line
The White House lists US$2.4 billion in SI for science tools and compute credits from eleven companies for the Genesis Mission Consortium, led by NVIDIA at US$1 billion and AMD at US$500 million, within a summit package it puts at over US$6 billion.
