Anthropic Adds Claude Dashboards and Motion, Docs Exit Beta

Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta on 8 October 2026. Dashboards connects to a company’s data platform or CRM and builds dashboards that stay current, and is in beta on paid plans; Motion turns prompts into animated explainers exported as MP4, and is in beta on Team and Enterprise.

In the same post, Anthropic says Claude Docs, Slides and Design are out of beta and available on every plan, including Free, and that people have made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude.

Business Pill · GENERATIVE UI

A short explainer of generative UI: when the answer is a tool, not text. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any company in this story.

The key insight: As we read it, Anthropic is moving Claude from writing answers to producing the things work runs on: dashboards that stay current and animations built as editable code. The post frames both as first versions that hand off to existing BI and video tools rather than replace them.

How Dashboards Works

According to Anthropic, users connect a data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks or Snowflake and ask a question in plain language. Claude builds the dashboard and keeps it current as the data changes, and it works with other connectors too, for example a dashboard of Salesforce opportunities.

Each number can be clicked to show the query behind it, and each chart shows when its data was last refreshed, the post says. Anthropic positions Dashboards for quick, exploratory questions and says they work alongside BI and analytics tools.

For deeper analysis, a dashboard can be sent to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma, with Looker, monday.com and Tableau listed as coming soon.

Tools Anthropic names around Claude Dashboards and Motion, by count
Products named in Anthropic’s launch post of 8 October 2026, our count: 5 data platforms to connect, 8 dashboard hand-off tools available and 3 coming soon, 7 Motion export tools available and 2 coming soon.

How Motion Works

Claude Motion builds an animation from a prompt, such as a 30-second explainer of a quarterly report, which can be adjusted in an editor and downloaded as an MP4 file, according to Anthropic.

Anthropic says Claude writes code that animates text, charts, shapes and images, so any word, number or timing can be changed, and that Motion does not use a video generation model, so there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people.

Animations can be opened in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway, with Canva and Captions coming soon, the post says.

What Else Changed

Anthropic says Artifacts now support CMEK, teams and Claude can edit the same doc, deck, design or dashboard, and slides, designs, dashboards and animations can be shared outside an organisation if an admin allows it.

The standalone Claude Design site at claude.ai/design is being folded into Claude and stays available until 14 December, according to the post. For Enterprise admins, Dashboards and Motion are off by default, while Docs, Slides and Design turn on by default on 15 October.

The Structural Read

Every number is traceable. Anthropic says any figure on a dashboard can be clicked to show the query behind it.

Motion is code, not footage. The post says Motion does not use a video generation model, so text, numbers and timing stay editable.

Admins hold the switch. Dashboards and Motion are off by default for Enterprise organisations, according to Anthropic.

Anthropic, 8 October 2026

“Claude makes the first version, and you decide what gets shared.”

Three Implications

HAND-OFFS, NOT REPLACEMENTS Anthropic lists eight analytics tools that can take a dashboard further, with three more coming soon.

FREE PLAN INCLUDED Docs, Slides and Design are now available on every plan, including Free, per the post.

A MIGRATION DATE The standalone Claude Design site stays open until 14 December, Anthropic says.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework The Agentic Harness War.

The framework’s starting point: “The surface, not the model, governs autonomy.”

As we read it, this launch adds surfaces rather than model capability: dashboards, animations and documents are where Claude’s output now lives, and the post’s list of hand-offs shows which surfaces Anthropic chooses to build and which it connects to.

What Is Not Established

We read Anthropic’s post in full; it gives no pricing beyond the plans each feature is available on, and no usage figures for Dashboards or Motion. We did not test the features or contact Anthropic.
