Anduril Has 2,526 Open Jobs, 8x Palantir’s, as It Eyes $120B

Anduril’s own careers board listed 2,526 open roles on 28 October 2026, and 789 of them had been first posted in the previous 30 days, according to the FourWeekMBA AI jobs tracker, which reads each company’s careers feed every day. The count comes a day after The Information reported that the defense-tech company is considering raising money at a valuation of about $120 billion, as we reported on 28 October.

In plain words: Anduril builds autonomous weapons, drones and the software that runs them, and its public job board shows how many people it is trying to hire right now. On the same morning, Palantir’s board listed 306 open roles and Scale AI’s listed 169, so Anduril had about 8.3 times as many open roles as Palantir, by our arithmetic. These are open job postings, not hires.

An evergreen Business Engineer explainer on output per employee. It explains the general idea only and does not discuss Anduril.

The key insight: As we read it, the count shows where Anduril is spending its hiring effort: 1,788 of 2,526 open roles, about 71% by our arithmetic, are engineering, and 789 roles were first posted in the 30 days before 28 October, according to the FourWeekMBA AI jobs tracker.

Where the Roles Are

The tracker sorts each posting into a function. Of Anduril’s 2,526 open roles on 28 October:

  • Engineering: 1,788 roles, about 71% of the total, by our arithmetic.
  • Finance and operations: 469 roles.
  • Other functions: 193 roles.
  • Product and design: 36 roles; sales and go-to-market: 23; research: 17.

Only 1.3% of the open roles were listed as remote, according to the tracker. Of the 789 roles first posted in the last 30 days, the share of the open total works out to about 31%, by our arithmetic.

Next to Palantir and Scale AI

The same tracker reads Palantir’s and Scale AI’s boards. On 28 October, Palantir listed 306 open roles, 16 of them first posted in the previous 30 days, with 194 in engineering. Scale AI listed 169 open roles, 21 of them posted in the previous 30 days, with 76 in engineering.

By our arithmetic, Anduril posted 789 roles in 30 days against 37 for Palantir and Scale AI combined. The three companies run different businesses, so the counts are not a like-for-like measure of growth.

What the Counts Do and Do Not Show

An open posting is not a hire. One posting can cover several hires or none, and companies differ in how long they keep postings up. The counts also move during the day: a check of the same public feeds at about 17:45 UTC on 28 October showed Anduril at 2,538 open postings, 805 of them first published in the last 30 days.

Anduril did not comment on its hiring plans for this piece; we did not ask it to. We have seen The Information’s report only through a summary posted on X; according to that summary, Anduril hopes to raise a new round in the first quarter of 2027, and it is too soon to say whether it will happen at that price.

Track Who Is Hiring

Every role in these counts opens on the employer’s own site from our AI jobs board, which lists open roles at 107 AI companies and can be searched by company name. The same page carries the weekly AI hiring report, free every Monday: who is hiring for what, which roles are new, and what it says about where AI money is going.

Connecting the Coverage

The Information’s report that Anduril is weighing a raise at about $120 billion, nearly twice the $61 billion valuation of its May round by our arithmetic, was our story on 28 October. Palmer Luckey said Anduril’s US-made laptop will cost about 20% more, as we reported on 27 October, and an Anduril pitch deck named its own capture rate, as we reported on 29 September.

Elsewhere in defense AI, Striveworks’ Army deal grew tenfold to $700 million over five years, as we reported on 24 October. What’s new here: a daily count, from our own tracker, of how many roles Anduril is trying to fill.

The Structural Read

As we read it, the gap with Palantir is large on both measures our tracker records: open roles, 2,526 against 306, and roles posted in the last 30 days, 789 against 16.

Only 1.3% of Anduril’s open roles were listed as remote, according to the tracker, against 0% at Palantir and Scale AI on the same day.

“The digital economy rests on a physical foundation that most people in that economy never see”

Three Implications

FOR JOB SEEKERS Anduril’s board listed 1,788 open engineering roles on 28 October, according to our tracker; every role opens on Anduril’s own site.

FOR INVESTORS The tracker gives a daily count of postings, not hires; it does not show Anduril’s headcount or hiring budget.

FOR DEFENSE TECH Palantir and Scale AI listed 306 and 169 open roles on the same day, according to the same tracker.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework AI’s Geopolitical Chokepoint.

The framework argues that “The digital economy rests on a physical foundation that most people in that economy never see”.

As we read it, Anduril’s hiring fits that view: most of its open roles are engineering roles at a company that builds physical defense systems as well as software. The framework was published in December 2025 and does not discuss Anduril.

What Is Not Established

The counts come from Anduril’s, Palantir’s and Scale AI’s public job boards as read by our tracker; they do not show how many people the companies will hire, their headcount, or their hiring budgets. The function groupings come from the tracker.

A note on sourcing. The job counts are FourWeekMBA’s own data, read from each company’s public careers board on 28 October 2026; percentages and multiples are our arithmetic. The $120 billion context is The Information’s report as summarised on X. Open postings are not hires.
