CoreWeave Forge Puts W&B, Training, Inference in One Loop

CoreWeave announced CoreWeave Forge on 30 September 2026, a development layer that it says runs the entire AI loop, from running and observing a model or agent to curating data, improving, evaluating and repeating, in one connected environment that stays open across models, frameworks and other clouds.

Forge unifies Weights & Biases Models, post-training expertise from OpenPipe and the open-source marimo notebook project with CoreWeave’s own services, according to the release. MasterClass and Canva are already building on it, CoreWeave says.

Business Pill · DATA FLYWHEEL

A short explainer of the data flywheel: when using a product makes it better. It teaches the general idea only and says nothing about any company in this story.

The key insight: As we read it, Forge extends CoreWeave’s pitch from renting compute to the loop around it. The release argues that production traces should feed the next training run, and Forge puts tracking, evaluation, training and inference in one place to do that.

What Ships With Forge

CoreWeave lists ARIA, a coding agent that analyses experiment and agent observability data and proposes next experiments, and CoreWeave Sandboxes as generally available. It also lists Notebooks, a Registry for versioned checkpoints and agent configurations, post-training services and inference access to open-weight models.

According to the release, CoreWeave Agent Lens detects 20 percent more critical failures and fixes issues at one-tenth the cost, based on a benchmark against a general-purpose frontier LLM. CoreWeave says its serverless RL trains 1.4 times faster at 40 percent lower cost than a self-managed setup.

Forge comes in Free, Pro and Enterprise editions, and CoreWeave offers a free 30-day trial of Pro.

Where Weights & Biases Fits

CoreWeave completed its acquisition of Weights & Biases on 5 May 2025, according to its W&B page. It says more than 1 million AI practitioners at 1,400+ companies use W&B and that teams have tracked more than 1 billion runs on the platform.

As of 30 September 2026, W&B Free, Pro and Enterprise SaaS accounts sign in through CoreWeave Forge with their existing credentials, while self-hosted and dedicated-instance accounts remain unchanged, CoreWeave says. It lists Monolith, Conductor Technologies, OpenPipe and Marimo among its other acquisitions.

CoreWeave’s Case

“Forge brings all these capabilities on one platform, so what a business learns from running AI becomes part of how engineers improve it,” said Chen Goldberg, CoreWeave’s executive vice president of product and engineering.

The release says model and agent development has been split across tools from separate vendors, so that a production trace does not feed the next training run and a finished experiment does not inform the next evaluation.

The Structural Read

Acquisitions became the product. Forge combines Weights & Biases, OpenPipe and marimo, all listed by CoreWeave among its acquisitions, with its own services.

Existing users moved with it. W&B SaaS accounts sign in through Forge from 30 September with the credentials they already use, CoreWeave says.

Openness is part of the pitch. CoreWeave says Forge stays open across the models, frameworks and clouds teams already use.

The Business Engineer Lens

This story maps onto the Business Engineer framework Enterprise AI: From Software to Substrate.

The framework’s starting point: “Enterprise vendors don’t sell software anymore—they sell irreversibility. The product is the interconnection.”

As we read it, Forge is an interconnection offer: its value claim is that tracking, evaluation and training are connected. CoreWeave pairs that with a promise of openness across models and clouds, so the release itself argues against irreversibility.
