Resolution 4: Tactical — Ground Level

Resolution 4: Tactical — Ground Level

The Execution

Tactical resolution sees what needs to happen right now. It’s where operations become specific actions—the moment of truth where work actually gets done.

Time Horizon: Hours to Days (Immediate action, concrete steps)

What Tactical Resolution Sees

  • Specific Tasks: Individual work items
  • Immediate Actions: What to do next
  • Concrete Steps: Detailed execution
  • Problem Resolution: Fixing what’s in front of you
  • Blockers & Bottlenecks: What’s stopping progress

Questions Tactical Resolution Asks

  • “What do I do right now?”
  • “What’s the next step?”
  • “How do I solve this specific problem?”
  • “What’s blocking me?”
  • “Is this on or off target?”

Key Characteristics

  • Lowest abstraction, highest detail
  • “What to do now” decisions
  • Immediate, concrete, specific
  • Easy to adjust (but changes don’t compound)
  • Ground-level reality check

The Danger: The Specialist Trap

Busy but not effective.

People who live at tactical resolution often:

  • Stay busy without strategic impact
  • Optimize locally, destroy globally
  • Build features nobody needs
  • Execute brilliantly on the wrong strategy

Tactical excellence doesn’t fix strategic error.
