In 2016, Microsoft bought LinkedIn for $26.2 billion.
At the time (2015), LinkedIn generated almost $3 billion in revenue.
With $1.88 billion coming from talent solutions. $581 million from marketing solutions.
And $532 million from premium subscriptions.
By 2022, (as part of Microsoft), LinkedIn generated $13.8 billion in revenues.
Today LinkedIn Talent Solutions surpassed $6 billion in revenue.
LinkedIn Marketing Solutions surpassed 5 billion dollars in annual revenue for the first time.
LinkedIn is the leading player in B2B digital advertising.
With over 850 million members today.
And an over 4x increase in revenues in the last seven years.
LinkedIn might be worth anywhere between $100-140 billion (depending on the multiple you apply).
Potentially a 3-4x return on the investment for Microsoft.
This is, after YouTube, probably the best corporate acquisition of the last decade!
