AI Detector

This is a tool we built to enable you to find content on the web which is AI-generated.

Of course, keep in mind that this tool works better on longer-form content types (at least two paragraphs).

And you might want to make sure to have your own judgment on whether the content you’re reading is AI-generated or not.

Indeed, we give you a glimpse of whether the content is AI-generated, but then we leave it up to you to have a final call.

Usually, AI-generated content might be extremely well structured in form, grammar, and style.

But it might lack factual accuracy.

That’s because many AI models, and also tools like ChatGPT, are extremely good at specific things, yet, they are, in many cases, not grounded.

They might be also very limited in specific tasks (like counting).

Thus, take that into account when reading content on the Internet.

How does the AI detector work?

AI detectors can have varying degrees of accuracy as detecting AI-generated content is based on learning how this gets generated.

Thus, like in a cat-and-mouse game, AI detectors can get better, as they get trained on a large amount of AI-generated content.

GPT-3 is the hardest to catch.

And for an accurate AI detector, an AI classification model is extremely valuable for that.

Yet, that is also extremely expensive (as it requires, hundreds of thousands of different AI-generated essays to start) and power-hungry.

The AI Detector we offer is based on SpaCy, which is the leading Natural Language Processing framework for Python and is built upon AI classification models that have a specific use case (i.e., sentiment analysis).

A mix of factors is used to determine a result. However, this can have varying degrees of accuracy (as stated above) as one can easily manipulate the content to bring up false positives, and AI-generated text can vary in how it’s presented.

In training this first version of the AI detector, we used the most profound and common cases to create a factor-based approach that correctly classified the text as AI ~80% of the time.

So take all the above into account when using this free tool!
